What to Expect

  • The courses are all hands-on and limited in size to 10 to 12 per class.
  • Two professional chef instructors instruct each class.
  • Our culinary students assist in the classes.
  • We offer a fun atmosphere while learning classical and global skills and techniques from professional chef instructors.
  • We focus on exploring cooking techniques, ingredients and dishes.
  • Instructional recipes geared towards the home cook or gourmand, taking into consideration the tools and equipment people have in their homes.
  • Our teaching allows the home cook to think and cook like a professional chef.
  • Each of our classes offers its unique diversity with flavours from around the world and close to home.
  • Each course is either an intense one-evening class or a series of classes, exploring cooking techniques, ingredients, dishes or cuisine.
  • When attending a class please bring along containers to transport your food.

We have designed these interactive series to give an overview of useful techniques ensuring that key concepts are understood. Each class in the series could be a stand-alone class created for students of all skill levels. All classes are $150 per class.

Whether served boiled, steamed, or fried, a dumpling filled with regional ingredients, satiates with a taste of its history. Let’s journey along the Silk Road, the ancient trade route that links Asia to Europe, crossing over to Central Asia and Turkey making and tasting the many varieties of dumplings.

Flavours of Lebanon

Situated between the east and the west, Lebanon is a culinary and cultural crossroad where western civilisation is believed to have begun. The cuisine is diverse and engraved in history with both the eastern and western influences evident in its cuisine. For the majority of history, Lebanon has been ruled by foreign powers that have influenced the Lebanese cuisine. From the 16th Century, the Ottoman Empire and later the French controlled Lebanon and introduced a variety of foods that have become staples in the Lebanese diet. The genius of Lebanese cuisine is the simplicity and freshness that rely on the product of the sun, the sea and the land. It has the sophistication and finesse of the European cuisine with the exotic aromas of Middle Eastern spices. Today, the cuisine of Lebanon is the epitome of the Mediterranean diet. It includes an abundance of starches, fruits, vegetables, fresh fish and seafood. It also includes copious amounts of garlic and olive oil. The meals are full of exotic, earthy flavours and the desserts jam-packed with succulent rose water and orange blossom.
